Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Mechanical Engineering team in Santa Barbara, California (ACT) supports the design, development, and sustainment of Arthrex surgical imaging equipment. We are searching for an intern to support the Mechanical Engineering team at ACT. The successful candidate will design in 3D CAD, assist with fabrication drawings, and test prototypes of the next-generation imaging equipment. The individual will perform various design, analysis, and test activities that will contribute to the design of the next-generation imaging equipment and will be detail-oriented in the execution and documentation of these test methods. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility..

Main goal of Internship/ Co-op:

Assist with design, fabrication, and testing of the next-generation (Gen 3.5) video console and camera systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Gen 3.5 Camera and Console Design and Prototype Testing.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Experience with Solidworks required.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
