Since my work responsibilities involve managing two domestic Accounts Receivable teams and one international Accounts Receivable team, I must prioritize my activities. My first order of business is to address emails received overnight, followed by any scheduled international meetings, then meeting with team members. The remainder of the day consists of working with sales management to establish strategic methods to increase sales in particular countries, by providing objective assessments of financial risk factors, meeting with cross-functional teams to improve current processes and supporting the department on a variety of ongoing initiatives.
What do you most aboenjoyut your job?
I truly enjoy the fact I get to work with so many teams in the organization, both domestic and international. It allows me to experience our cultural diversity and strengthen relationships with colleagues from different regions of the world and the U.S. In addition, I get to work closely with my teams to promote cross-functional initiatives which will create efficiencies and generate organizational success.
What has been a highlight during your time at Arthrex?
I really love working at Arthrex. There have been a lot of moments where I pause and think, “Wow, this is a great company,” from culture to benefits to leadership. One moment that stands out is a medical education event I attended a few years ago. I saw how impressed the attendees were with every aspect of the event, from the product showcase to the expert knowledge of the faculty. As an employee, I felt proud to work for a company that places so much emphasis on medical education that will benefit patients around the world. You just cannot help but feel proud.
Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?
One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou when she wrote, “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.” Arthrex’s commitment to support employee development has had a profound impact on my career, by helping set the foundation for my current position. Throughout my employment with Arthrex, I graduated college (a lifelong dream), participated in external management courses, and attended multiple leadership classes with senior management. Having the undeniable support of our leadership has helped me become the manager I am today, able to support and empower my teams to achieve their full potential.
What do you do in your downtime?
I like going to the beach and reading, so reading at the beach is heaven! I also love cooking, especially when my kids come to visit.
