What does a typical day at Arthrex look like for you?
I begin my days by meeting with the suture techs of each shift to coordinate the training that we need to accomplish during the day, both for new and current employees in the department. We also talk about the training on new or existing products that the technicians need to fulfill during the week.
Then I go back to my desk to check email and organize my priorities for the day. Every day is different, but I prepare employee schedules, collect data, record all the training that operators pass in our systems, and more.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I really enjoy the challenge of continuing to learn about the diversity of our products. It’s truly constant learning. The suture department is at the forefront of development because we produce for new products and techniques. We’re always thinking about how we’re Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.
I love to see our team help things go from concepts, maybe just a drawing on a piece of paper, and turn it into something tangible: a new product. It’s very exciting to have that kind of impact.

Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?
The Learning and Development team and the courses they offer have helped me to grow personally and professionally. My favorite course so far was The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. It has helped me work more successfully with different departments, especially with individuals who have different cultural backgrounds. I believe it has helped us better understand each other. We’re really lucky to have these kinds of courses offered to us right here. Plus, I love the Jennifers [Learning Development Specialists Jennifer Grant and Jennifer McCue]! They’re so passionate and engaging.
What do you do in your downtime?
I spend as much time as I can with my family. We like to spend time outside in nature and going to see live music and dancing—especially salsa and merengue. My husband is Asian and I’m Latina, and we really enjoy trying lots of different foods from each other’s cultures. I just like to make sure I’m always enjoying what I’m doing—I think it’s very important to live a full life.
