The Data & Analytics Senior Analyst position is an opportunity within the Data & Analytics Center of Excellence (COE). This is an exciting position that will directly impact our business analytics outcomes and requires strong business acumen. The analyst will work to provide deeper analysis through valuable insights and drive decision support solutions leveraging the best-in-class data & analytics tools. This position will help mature the use of data with user-friendly analytical tools, dashboards and advanced analytics so that relevant information can be efficiently gathered, shared, and interpreted by our business teams and their partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain a deep understanding of relevant business area(s) and business processes to be able to recommend BI/Analytic solutions and build high-quality requirements.
- Partners with business domain experts to deeply understand problems and data-driven opportunities.
- Collects requirements and specifications for projects and deliverables - both technical and functional.
- Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting alternatives to proposed BI/Analytic solutions.
- Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly
- Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements.
- Help identify key drivers, trends and patterns of successful strategies by analyzing KPIs and complex data sets.
- Designs, develops, and maintains reports and analytical tools
- Become a champion/Power User/advocate for business partners to help maximize use of analytical tools at disposal by promoting their use to solve business problems and inefficiencies manual reporting.
- Provide job aids, training and share techniques to improve efficiencies utilizing analytics tools and others.
- Participates in the education, enablement and promotion of Arthrex’s Data Literacy Program. Champion’s Arthrex’s Data Literacy Program by helping to guide the business in discovering the desired outcome by utilizing data story telling best practices.
- Performs extensive testing and defect analysis of analytical solutions and new rollouts.
- Assist in the development of statistical, scientific and machine learning models working with COE using advanced analytic tools that help solve problems and optimize business processes.
- Participates in the enablement and promotion of data governance across data products and platforms
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Contributes and enforces the data & analytics governance standards and policies
- Create and maintain complex data models
- Create and maintain comprehensive reports, dashboards, and other data analytics visualizations
- Facilitates the adoption of solutions by sponsoring business departments
- Assist in identifying opportunities to innovate and differentiate, including but not limited to RPA (Robotic Process Automation), Predictive and Prescriptive analytics
- Assist and/or deliver larger scale decision support solutions that require multiple data inputs and impact a broader base
- Leads and takes ownership of projects and initiatives and liaise with other technical teams required to deliver a project end-to-end. Manage projects with cross functional teams and of global scope
- Build & manage strong Business Relationships within identified areas
- Provides technical training & assistance to business users and other staff & team members
- Collaborates with the Data Warehouse development team to create and enhance mature enterprise-level star-schema data models that support broader organization alignment
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 + years of relevant work experience required
- Intermediate level of SQL required
- Beginner’s level of experience in Python a plus
- Intermediate level of knowledge in Data Analysis skill sets required
- Intermediate level in Front-End Data Visualization & Analytical Tools a must (examples: PowerBI/ CRMA / Planning Analytics)
- Beginner’s level of knowledge in Data Science
- Experience in Agile development methodology a plus
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level
- Experience with process improvement and problem-solving techniques and tools – preferred
- Strong team player, but also able to work and focus independently and self-directed on projects.
- Strong time management and organization skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
