Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
- Analyze financial results for accuracy, determining variance drivers and documenting performance commentary. Perform trend and sensitivity analyses to determine potential impacts to business results
- Maintain cross-functional relationships with applicable business units and participate in cross-functional meetings to understand the status of identified initiatives
- Gather, organize, and present financial data for the applicable area for management reporting and in preparation for regular leadership reviews
- Prepare and summarize plan vs. actual reports and variance explanations for applicable areas
- Understand and monitor relevant KPIs/trends/events impacting the business and incorporate this information into forecasts and analyses
- Research and resolve inquiries for assigned functional areas
- Implement and support continuous improvement in data analytics, business intelligence, and reporting efficiency and effectiveness
- Exercise flexibility in working time or hours when needed to meet project deadlines and quality expectations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and prepares technology department budgets, updates forecasts, and monthly/quarterly/year-to-date analysis of results; provides financial analysis & support related to technology spend and drivers.
- Ensures the accuracy and reliability of financial data for the department.
- Monitor operational performance, variances, and related expenditures.
- Provide recommendations that aid transparency, foster discipline, and enable more effective spending decisions
- Actively contribute to financial accounting including the timely and accurate month-end close process
- Partner closely with Accounting Leadership and functional area Team member
- Responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control
- Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance
- Work with departmental Leadership to investigate and analyze expenditures and recommend processes or improvement to systems to allow for visibility and control of expenditures
- Research and resolve Business Partner inquiries and requests for information and analysis
- Analyze business KPIs, models, cost structures, investments, etc., and recommend changes to improve long-term profitability
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of management decision-support reporting and analytics through the use of advanced database concepts and medium-to-advanced knowledge of SAP & IBM TM1 planning and reporting and system data mining
- Assist and guide project managers with performing financial quality control to monitor the usage of financial standards and practices on projects across the project lifecycle.
- Assist regional accounting offices and technology leads in procurement & recording of in country technology purchases, license/maintenance renewal, and global technology cost allocations.
Specialized Skills:
- Advanced Excel and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
- Analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of SAP/ERP system or equivalent
- Strong collaboration cross functionally & negotiation skills
- Demonstrated knowledge in key areas of responsibility.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff. Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong presentation skills
- Advanced, working-knowledge of applicable specialty
- Demonstrated independent problem-solving abilities
- Ability to create or improve upon new or existing reporting and/and processes
- Expertise in BI reporting tools and underlying data
Discretion / Latitude:
Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining assignment objectives. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business/ Economics required
- 4+ years of relevant work experience required
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Virtual machines and laptops. Microsoft environment. Work with standard current computer applications, including but not limited to collaboration tools, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
- Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
