Title: Family Office Investment Analyst

This position will be based at our corporate headquarters in Naples, FL.

 

Main Objective:

The primary responsibilities include working with senior investment team members to help research and manage investment opportunities in private and public markets, across both direct company investments and fund investments.  You will analyze industries, businesses, and investment managers through in-depth fundamental research and conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate risk and estimate returns.  You will build investment cases, help draft investment memos, and make recommendations to the team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct rigorous due diligence, including reading and summarizing findings from company filings, research reports, transcripts and news.
  2. Conduct primary research including speaking with industry experts and analysts, attending conferences or tradeshows, and meeting with investment managers and company management teams.
  3. Create and maintain valuation models and monitor ongoing developments for the firm’s existing and prospective investments.
  4. Produce macro research to help quantify the potential investment opportunity in an asset class, geography, investment type, sector, or industry.
  5. Lead or participate in fund manager campaigns to identify best-in-class teams that invest in asset classes, geographies, strategies, or industries of interest.
  6. Recommend investments to portfolio managers and the investment committee through carefully written investment thesis presentations and memos.
  7. Support the portfolio management effort for existing investments, producing regular updates on performance, KPIs, outlooks, risks, and conviction level.
  8. Help improve and expand the firm’s research and investment process.
  9. Support the investment and risk reporting efforts.
  10. Liaise with the Finance & Accounting team to support them with any necessary investment related information.
  11. General support on special projects and administrative tasks as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.
  • CFA® or an advanced degree (MBA) is a plus
  • Two years of relevant experience (public equity or private equity investing) preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting
  • Proficient with financial modeling and discounted cash flow analysis
  • Ability to work on confidential information
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Capacity to manage competing priorities while keeping sight of big-picture objectives
  • Highly adaptable with excellent time-management and follow-through skills
  • Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates their activities to achieve desired results. 
  • Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills. 

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Tech savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Addepar, PitchBook, and Bloomberg Terminal.

 

Reasoning Ability:

  • Intellectual curiosity with an ability to engage in thoughtful debates over the merits of an investment.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
