Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. The Design Quality Engineering team provides expertise in risk management, product quality, process control, verification & validation (V&V), and continuous improvement. During this Co-Op experience, you’ll incorporate quality methods and tools, including applied statistics and external standards, to design experiments, develop test protocols, conduct investigations, and improve products and processes.

This Co-op will run from July 2025 – Decemeber 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

Co-op will work with the Design Quality Engineering department to gain experience in research, design, testing, and manufacturing of medical devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the design quality engineers in reformatting, aligning, defining, and releasing remediated risk management files.
• Support the team with their new product development and remediation projects, such as, design control documentation, quality plans, PPAP development, engineering change reviews, and documentation change reviews.
• Help to pull the data and set up the exports to be presented to various teams.
• Provide updates based off of opportunities for improvement identified in the internal audits. 
• Student will attend regular departmental meetings, training sessions, symposiums, etc. as required.
• Works within specifications provided to meet project goals and objectives in a timely and accurate manner.
• Effectively works with peers, project team members, and other departments in new product development, product line extensions, and product enhancements.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursing a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related field, or a recent graduate, required.
  (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
• Junior or senior preferred.
• Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation, mechanical testing equipment, PC, ProEngineer or other 3D modeling software a plus.
