Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The HR team is expanding on the Naples campus and adding a Benefits Analyst II to the team. The Benefits Analyst II will be responsible for performing a variety of duties, including reporting, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) file maintenance as well as auditing and evaluating all benefits transactions to ensure data integrity and compliance. The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more of Human Resources experience including two years of benefit experience and a bachelor’s degree. Additional skills required include intermediate computer proficiency and strong analytical abilities. We are also seeking someone with a creative approach to reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine and informal audits of U.S. and Canada benefit enrollment, terminations and funding, to ensure continued data accuracy.
  • Maintains data integrity by conducting regular audits of benefit data between internal and external systems to ensure accuracy
  • Provides administrative support for compliance activities and government filings (ACA, 5500s, etc.)
  • Partners with leadership to identify trends within the Company and opportunities for improvements based on market analysis to ensure a competitive benefit package and employee retention.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with Company leadership and other key areas to create and execute a benefits strategy that incorporates multiple benefit programs and initiatives that are connected such as benefits, wellness, and leave.

 

Auditing & Reporting

  • Assists team with regular and ad hoc audits of all benefit plans.
  • Assists with audits of all benefit EDI files. Collaborates senior team members to correct any discrepancies or updates.
  • Creates more efficient benefits business processes to support a complex and multi-layered organization.
  • Audit, track and coordinate repayment of benefit arrears. Coordinate repayment with the applicable Benefits Administrator.
  • Develops regular benefit reports extracting data from the database; identifies and resolves data discrepancies.
  • Assist Benefits Leadership with new benefit implementation and changes to any existing plans.
  • Partners with HRIS, Payroll and other pertinent HR areas to ensure data flows, deduction files, and EDI files and interfaces are properly functioning and tested.
  • May assist with training new team members.
  • Attends monthly meetings with AMC/Wellness.HR. Drafts agenda for meeting and also takes minutes and distributes to attendees.
  • Participates in Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) meetings and partners with the HRIT team to identify, suggest, and implement ongoing process improvements in HRIS system.

 

Communications:

  • Assist senior team members with developing, tracking and reviewing communications.
  • Assist senior team members with all SharePoint updates.
  • May travel for business needs.
  • Develop creative ways to communicate all benefits programs to drive engagement and awareness.
  • Ability to deliver a high volume of benefit communications within short timeframe.
  • Assist Benefits Leadership with developing content for all benefit events, such as webinars, informational sessions.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications through employee surveys, reporting metrics, and other key performance indicators.
  • Review and manage existing benefit content within the Benefits SharePoint page to ensure it is current and relevant.
  • Travel for business needs is required.

 

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of general HR experience with 2 years of benefits experience
  • Intermediate level PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience with communicating through multiple channels, i.e. email, newsletters, SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

 

Skills:

  • Ability to effectively manage one’s time and handle multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines.  
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs required.  
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly to perform most job functions.
  • Ability to communicate ideas, results, recommendations, and status effectively in oral and written forms. 
  • Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) files
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Presentation skills required.

 

Knowledge:

  • Intermediate knowledge of benefits.
  • Basic knowledge of general Company HR policies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD).

           

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and exercise good judgment and reasoning required.

           

Discretion/ Latitude:

  • Work is performed under general direction.
  • Participates in determining objectives of assignment.
  • Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
