Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Service Engineering team in Santa Barbara, California (ACT) is responsible for supporting our Service & Repair lines. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern that can help us implement improvement initiatives on the line and potentially even identify cost avoidance opportunities. The successful candidate will prepare, execute, and document all necessary activities to ensure a viable as well as compliant implementation within our Quality Management System. The individual will perform various activities in collaboration with the dedicated Sr. Manufacturing Engineers as well as the Repair line supervisors. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to respond to urgent needs to keep our Repair line highly utilized at an efficient rate.

 

This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility..

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Validation activities for new ancillary equipment.
  • Support Change Control activities for shopfloor changes.
  • Support Lean implementation activities.
  • Support GMP and QMS related needs.
  • Conceptualize, design and complete fixture creation for upcoming Repair Line establishment. 


Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
