With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Vet Engineering team in Naples, Florida is responsible for the product development, improvement, and maintenance of products for the veterinary orthopedic market. The successful candidate will support with the development of design concepts for product improvement or new product development with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual will aid in various engineering tasks such as concept development, prototyping, prototype evaluation, and documentation. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner

 

This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

 

Main Objective:

To support Engineer(s) in initial projects stages of new product development or product improvement projects.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the design concept development of vet trauma implants/instruments.
  • Participate in prototype evaluations (drylab/wetlab).
  • Documentation of concept development and test results.
  • Aid in the creation of design history file related documentation like DTM.
  • Support the creation of drawings and models, as well as change requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering, veterinary or related degree required.  Junior or above preferred. 
    (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
  • Background or interest in veterinary or engineering preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
