With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Global Language Management (GLM) team in Naples, Florida is responsible for the translation of marketing, technical, and software content in 32 languages. GLM’s translation group is responsible for project managing the translation of assets in an economical fashion while meeting the high expectations of our internal requesters and our corporate quality requirements. We are searching for an intern pursuing a degree in Translation Project Management/Localization to support the GLM team. The successful candidate will assist the Translation Project Management team in the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of translation projects with internal translation requesters and external translation vendors. This role provides the intern with an opportunity to complement their education and to develop professional skills within an innovative global enterprise.

 

This internship will run from May 2023 – August 2023. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

Coordinates the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of translation projects with internal translation requesters and external translation vendors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of translation projects with internal translation requesters and external translation vendors.
  • Applies project management techniques to ensure on time, in-budget, high-quality deliverables.
  • Performs quality check upon receipt of translation(s).
  •  Uses translation management platform and technology.
  • Uses marketing asset platform and technology.
  • Prepares project reports as needed.
  • Updates databases as needed.
  •  Additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Pursuing a BS degree in Translation Project Management or Translation and Localization Management required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • General knowledge of the language industry and project management.
  • Experience with computer-assisted translation tools.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proven ability to successfully manage a multitude of tasks, projects and information simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of additional language(s).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player and willingness to collaborate.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
