Arthrex is actively seeking a Software Security Engineer -Medical Devices who will work closely with product design and development staff to build security into applications and medical devices developed at Arthrex


This role is entry level but perfect for the individual who is actively interested, researching, or working on the cybersecurity of devices or software.  The role will be instrumental in analyzing and tracking security defects, maintaining product security evidence, and interfacing with development staff to help obtain product security focused certifications.  Excellent communications and analytical skills, strong technical skills and a Bachelors’ degree will be essential for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts software security testing and analysis on medical devices and other software products.
  • Champions software security findings by ensuring findings are produced, documented, prioritized, and addressed.
  • Helps ensure standards are met during design, development, and maintenance of a medical device.
  • Assists in obtaining product security focused certifications.
  • Supports teams in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.  Degree in Computer Science, or related field preferred.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of application security controls (OWASP).
  • Experience writing and reading code (like: C, C++, C#, Java, Node.js, Python, Unity Game Engine)
  • Experience in web application development, embedded systems, IoT, and DevOps or DevSecOps a plus.
  • Cybersecurity related certifications a plus (OSCP, OSWE, Security+, CSSLP, CEH).
  • Cybersecurity related coursework a plus.
