Main Objective: Lead SW prototype development and drive the development of new technologies of web and mobile products for Enterprise applications. Responsibilities include architectural design, interface design, analysis and simulation, prototyping, design assurance testing, collaboration with creative teams, ability to build greenfield projects from scratch and prototypes on legacy system foundation, ability to take an idea from surgeon’s design inputs to create working prototypes for further refinement and development prior to handing to commercialization teams to complete.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead prototype development projects of web and iOS applications with Unity3D and JavaScript based languages, such as Angular.js, React.js, Node.js, etc.
- Conceptualize and design new planning SW interactive experiences.
- Own the development of new interactive experiences from prototype to hand over to commercialization for product release.
- Collaborate with Creative and Engineering teams to make the most valuable pre-operative and intra-operative experiences in the industry.
- Serve as principal technical contributor and drive project deliverables through Agile methods.
- Translate abstract requirements into functional code to meet intended objectives and key results.
- Implement intuitive user interfaces with guidance from our User Experience team.
- Lead development to ensure robust, sustainable, and scalable design approaches that meet design intent.
- Mentor other developers on best practices and defined development patterns.
- Collaborate closely with teams across Arthrex and the Enterprise Products teams to develop and deliver the best frontend experience possible for both surgeon and patients.
- Provide technical support for Regulatory and Software Quality Reviews as needed.
- Report progress and status of assigned projects on a timely basis with emphasis on reporting results.
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2 years or more of relevant experience required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Experience in utilizing medical imaging to produce 3D model for analysis or design use.
- Experience in identification of anatomical landmarks or features necessary for precise analysis and transfer.
- Experience in understanding deviations in pathological anatomy from baseline anatomy.
- Experience in designing products using 3D-CAD programs.
- Ability to program and code interactive experiences.
- Intermediate ability to work with digital content creation tools (2D, 3D, etc.).
- Experience in designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines (Unity, Unreal, Open Frameworks, Processing, and WebGL/OpenGL, etc.).
- Experience with web development frameworks such as Angular.js, React.js, Vue.js etc.
- Experience with mobile development frameworks such as Swift.
- Experience with backend framework such as Node.js and both NoSQL and relational DBs.
- Experience with AWS technologies and architectures.
- Experience with 3D packages like Maya, 3ds Max, or Cinema4D.
- Strong creative portfolio.
- Proven track record of delivering premium consumer product experiences in games, advertising, or other related channels.
- A passion for creating interactive experiences that are fun, delightful, with excellent user value.
- Good understanding of source code management, IDEs, defect tracking systems.
- Experience debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization frontend applications.
