With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics.  The Orthobiologics Engineering team is seeking a Co-op to support and assist with product development efforts. This Co-op will be responsible for CAD modeling, drawing updates, reverse engineering of products, and the ability to present data/results from product testing to cross-functional teams.

 

This Co-op will run from January 2025 - June 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

To support and assist with the product development efforts on the Orthobiologics/Vet Engineering Department.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support product development process.
  • Reverse engineer products (Ex: Test Fixtures).
  • Facilitate engineering change orders.
  • Update CAD models and create engineering drawings.
  • Assist with maintenance projects and performance evaluation of products.
  • Write and perform protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a recent graduate, required.  Sophomore or above studying Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering preferred. 
    (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
  • General understanding of engineering design process preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology preferred.
  • Excellent organization and leadership skills.
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, or AutoCAD) required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
