With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Medical Animation team in Naples, FL is responsible for visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing a Scientific or Medical Illustration degree to support the Medical Animation team. The successful candidate will create anatomically accurate medical 3D anatomy models for the Medical Visualization team and assist the Animation team in organizing process documents and department materials. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will be detail oriented in the execution of their work.


This internship will run from May 2022 – August 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.


Main Objective:

To support the Medical Animation team in adding and organizing team documents in addition to 3D modeling assistance.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help the animation team add and organize process documents into Confluence (team workspace to collaborate on critical projects).                                                

  • Assist with 3D modeling anatomy project by helping to sculpt models and produce associated texture maps.

  • Assist the animation team in building Unreal environments.

  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Science or Medical Illustration. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner. Software proficiency in ZBrush, Adobe Creative Suite, 3DS Max, Substance Painter preferred.
