Main Objective:

Facilitate and review federal and state income, franchise and related tax compliance activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory reporting requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Facilitate and review all federal and state income, franchise and related tax compiance activities, for all company and family entities as well as all direct family members, ensuring complicace with federal and state regulatory reporting requirements       (1120, 1120S, 1065,1040, and multi-state returns)

2.  Review federal information forms such as 5471’s, Country by Country Reporting, FBAR’s, 5500, 8858’s and other forms that may be required.

3.  Provide technical assistance in the coordination and preparation of the tax provisions for global tax financial reporting purposes.

4.  Develop relationships and work with other members of the Finance team (local and international) to gather necessary information for tax returns.

5.  Prepare responses to IRS and state income tax notices and auditor requests.

6.  Perform federal and state tax research as it relates to tax compliance using the Internal Revenue Code, regulations and other supporting material to provide preliminary conclusions and recommendations for issues and/or new tax rules,                   regulations or procedures affecting Arthrex, Inc. and its subsidiaries tax returns.

7.  Review and make updates to income tax compliance calendar to ensure that adequate tax filings are made in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Must be CPA certified and have an active CPA license.
  • Minimum of 6+ years in public accounting, corporate tax department or other equivalent experience.
  • Extensive US and multi-state: individual, corporate, partnership and other pass-through entity tax knowledge and experience. 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational and analytical skills. 
  • Experience with tax compliance software and tax research software.
  • Strong business writing skills and strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks to by established deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact in a positive manner with other employees in the Finance team, outside advisors and auditors.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PCs; Microsoft Office; database; and general office equipment.  Experience in tax preparation and research software, OneSource RS and RIA Checkpoint preferred.  Sage FAS, SAP a plus.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
