Main Objective:

The physician will be responsible for providing or coordinating all aspects of the patient's care including preventive, urgent, and routine care for Arthrex employees and their immediate families while having medical oversight of the Arthrex Medical Center SC. (AMI-SC)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•           Provide and assure that patients receive exceptional medical care that is appropriate in a family care or urgent care setting.

•           Assure the timely and efficient referral  of patients to out-of-center specialists or other providers when medically necessary.

•           Assure the documentation as represented in the medical records meets established standards of documentation.

•           Assume a medical leadership role in medical emergencies in the center including the initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stabilization and transfer to an appropriate community provider as necessary.

•           Advise patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention and maintenance of diseases.

•           Assist the office Staff and Clinic Coordinator in responding to patient concerns about medical care issues, including investigating patient complaints and completing incident reports.

•           Assure that patient rights to privacy and confidentiality are strictly maintained.

•           Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and other staff to ensure continuity of communication and instructions.

•           Actively involved and developing and implementing all corporate health initiatives and wellness programs.

•           Prescribe and dispense medications and diagnostic testing as indicated by the diagnosis and medical condition.

Education and Experience:

•           Corporate care/ workers comp/occupational health background is a plus/preferred.

•           Sports medicine, musculoskeletal medicine is a plus.

•           Graduate of an accredited medical school

•           5 years of post-residency clinical experience in a family practice, ambulatory care, or emergency room setting required

•           2 years of experience in managing a family practice, ambulatory care, emergency med, or urgent care clinic required

•           Licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina; must be Board Certified in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine.

•           Must have current state and federal DEA certification. Must have current certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required. Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification is a plus.

•           Current CPR Certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

•           Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently

•           Spanish speaking a plus

•           Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff which includes: effective communication, getting along with coworkers and management and dealing efficiently and professionally under pressure

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Microsoft Suite of software, plus any additional communications equipment as needed.

Experience with electronic medical records systems.  Greenway is preferred.
