Main Objective:

The Compliance Specialist supports the development, implementation and execution of the Risk Management & Compliance Program (the Program). This role will primarily support the global third-party compliance function, and as necessary, support other functional areas within the Program. These additional areas of support include but are not limited to the annual risk assessment process, global investigations, global monitoring, policies and procedures and other global operations or regional tasks as assigned. The Compliance Specialist reports to the Manager, Third Party Compliance.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the global third-party due diligence process, and administration of the third-party risk management system.
  • Supports development and testing of improvements to third-party risk management system.
  • Prepares reporting of third-party data for leadership and supports analysis of data as part of the third-party risk assessment process.
  • Supports the creation of policies and procedures as needed.
  • Supports the development of third-party compliance program training and communications initiatives and administers training as required.
  • Develops and maintains compliance templates, checklists, work instructions, etc. as applicable.
  • Supports tasks related to the on-going monitoring of compliance related activities (e.g., training or HCP interactions).
  • Drafts compliance reports and presentations for the Global Risk Management & Compliance team and other external stakeholders.
  • Supports the overall administration of the Program including responding to electronic inquiries and assisting with exception tracking.
  • Supports other Compliance department projects as assigned.
  • Up to 10% travel as required.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; professional license/certification (e.g., CCEP, CPA, CIA, etc.) preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Legal, Compliance, Risk or Internal Audit preferably within the healthcare/life sciences/biotech industry
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (in particular Microsoft Excel) is required.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online, and training development tools such as Adobe Articulate are preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise risk management software solutions is preferred.
  • Proficiency in other languages is preferred.

  • Ability to understand and develop business process and controls.

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry guidance applicable to a global healthcare company.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different departments (IT, HR, Legal, Finance etc.)
  • Ability to work in a global and intercultural environment.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Intermediate (or better) level of proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
