With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics.  The Gage and Fixture Design team is responsible for supporting Metrology and Quality Departments to develop, optimize and improve inspection process. We are searching for a student pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree to support the Gage and Fixture Design team. As an intern, you will perform various tasks supporting calibration activities (Gage Check-In process). Additional responsibilities include involvement in the design process of gages and fixtures for metrology operations, participate in Measurement System Analysis procedures (Gage R&R process) and Statistical Process Control studies (Minitab/QC CALC).  The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

 

This internship will run from May 2025 – August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

 

 

Main Objective:

To support the Gage and Fixture Design/Metrology team with various projects and responsibilities. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing basic gage and fixture design.
  • Utilize Solidworks for related projects and activities.
  • Agile training and related tasks.
  • Assist with Gage R&R and MSA analysis.
  • Aid in Gage check-in and calibration process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.  Junior or above preferred.
    (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Basic Solidworks knowledge and skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to read blueprints and basic GD&T knowledge.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
