Technician II performs mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly operations of moderate complexity with close attention to detail by following manufacturing assembly procedures while meeting the daily, weekly, and monthly production build schedule. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manufactures electro-mechanical and video camera medical products to specified work orders. Follows work instructions and standard operating procedures. Inspects own work as well as the work of others.
- Performs daily cleaning of the work area and initiates “Area Clearance” to maintain material traceability at the workstation.
- Performs tasks such as but are not limited to installing circuit boards, electronic components, product labels, cables, wire harnesses, optics cleaning, mounting, and assembling intricate optical, electrical, and mechanical components using mechanical fasteners and adhesives.
- Making decisions in fitting and adjustment of parts within established guidelines to achieve the required specifications.
- Verify that correct material is used per the Work Order and Device History Records, Travelers, and Forms are filled out completely, ensuring (GDP) Good Documentation Practices.
- May perform Preventive Maintenance of equipment within the department as required by PM Schedule.
- Ability to work on multiple process steps or lines, adjusting and reprioritizing work as necessary.
- Responsible for accessing and following packaging and work instructions from PLM and Document management systems based on product structure requirements.
- Participate in required company training activities related to products and processes supporting medical device manufacturing.
- Maintain and follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) work environment procedures
- May work on assignments such as R&D and V&V builds requiring judgment and collaboration in resolving issues.
- Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
- Ability to communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
Knowledge:
- Intermediate knowledge, understanding, and application of industry practices. Occasionally it contributes to the development of new techniques and standards.

- Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.

- Work is performed under general direction. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Skills/Abilities:
- Intermediate manual dexterity to assemble electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Analyzes and resolves non-routine production issues using independent judgment.
- Cross-trained employees are given the opportunity to perform various tasks throughout the day at multiple workstations or different product lines.
- Competence in MS Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook) required.
- Intermediate knowledge of visual inspection, part handling, component assembly, and barcode scanning required
- Proficient ability to test, troubleshoot, disassemble, and repair non-conforming products.
- Navigates SAP, Agile, and Documentum systems independently.
- Laser welding skills and Helium leak check preferred.
- CNC and bead blasting skills preferred.
- Solving simple math equations and the ability to perform tasks through verbal communication.
- Intermediate ability to conduct training regarding existing procedures.
- Adopt an environment of continuous improvement to develop more robust procedures and improvements within existing processes to produce cost-effective quality products.
- Intermediate ability to accurately and consistently assemble sub-assemblies and final products to specifications using specialized measuring equipment, hand tools, and microscopes, making decisions in proper fitment.
Education/Experience:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly is required. Medical device industry preferred.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, “one piece flow” manufacturing environment preferred.
