Arthrex, Inc is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Quality Engineering team in Goleta, California is responsible for supporting all production and service operations at ACT. We are searching for an Intern pursuing an Engineering degree to support the Receiving Inspection team at ACT. The successful candidate will learn how to perform inspections on custom test fixtures, rewrite work instructions, and execute training with guidance from the engineering staff. This individual may perform critical inspections as needed to support production. The individual will be highly organized, and detail oriented in the documentation of these work instructions. The individual will also work within the requirements of their task to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

This internship will run from January 2026 – April 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work at least 25 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility.

Main Objective:

• Coordinate inspection plan creation and revision, learn Receiving Inspection test stations, rewrite work instructions as needed, and train inspectors.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate completion and revision of inspection plans.
• Create and communicate a metric to measure timelines. 
• Test, rewrite work instructions (as needed), and train inspectors on custom test stations in Receiving Inspection.

Education and Experience:

• Progress towards a college degree in an Engineering field required, preferably in Electrical Engineering. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

• Electrical experience with tools such as DMMs, power supplies, oscilloscopes preferred. 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

• PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
