The Inventory Control Specialist I will ensure that throughput, workflow and production plan goals are accomplished by providing support to Production, Logistics, Quality, and Engineering functions in processing direct and indirect material through receiving, storing, issuing and shipping. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Quality Management System requirements.
- Maintain warehouse and inventory in an organized, orderly, and clean fashion.
- Operate material handling equipment including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, and swing reach lifts in compliance with all safety requirements and guidelines.
- Process direct and indirect material PO receipts per documented procedures, verifying that materials, quantities, and documents match purchase order requirements.
- Label all inventory by documented procedures, maintaining required identification and traceability throughout all processing.
- Maintain coincidence and appropriateness of physical and logical (ERP system) inventory movements (SLOC to SLOC, Bin to Bin, etc.) to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Perform inventory cycle counting and as directed inventory discrepancy investigation and/or reconciliation to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Create Device History Record (DHR) folders per documented procedures to support Production Order processing.
- Print device labels per documented procedures and Production Order requirements (Routing instructions, MBOM, quantities); inspect for conformance.
- Perform Production Order material kitting per documented procedures and Production Order requirements (Pick List) by physically picking and logically issuing inventory to support Production Order processing.
- Provide Production with kitted Production Orders, Unit DHRs (as required), Production Order DHRs (as required), and product labels (as required) to support the production schedule.
- As assigned/directed, perform Production Order logical completions for subassemblies and devices received from Production; locate physically and logically as appropriate.
- As assigned/directed, process shipping requests and Delivery Pick Lists per documented procedures for picking, packing, and shipping non-inventory, components, and devices.
- Perform other tasks as directed.
Knowledge:
- Basic SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts. Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards. Operate industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO 13485 requirements preferred.
- Microsoft Office knowledge preferred (Office, Word, Outlook).
Reasoning Ability:
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
Discretion/Latitude:
- Work is performed under general supervision. Follows specific, detailed instructions.
Skills/Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and control concepts.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office required.
- Ability to operate SAP WM main functions.
- Basic knowledge of production and manufacturing flow.
- Must have the ability to perform tasks by reading, understanding, and following work instructions/documents provided.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for manufacturing products.
- Basic understanding of BOMs and Routers and their use for manufacturing.
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and computer systems such as word processing, managing files and records, Excel, Power Point, Windchill, Documentum, SAP, and Microsoft Outlook.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Inventory management and control experience preferred.
- Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
- Regulated industry experience preferred.
- Medical device industry experience preferred.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to identify and define problems, collect data, analyze established facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate the information both verbally and in writing to a variety of audiences. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Physical Demands:
- Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. To bend frequently and lift 50-70 lbs. on a regular basis.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and computer programs, SAP, Quest, Windchill, Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Vision Requirements:
- Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
