THIS POSITION WILL BE FULLY REMOTE

Main Objective:

Utilize analytical skills in order to provide technical assistance in all areas that relate to the federal, state, and international tax matters affecting Arthrex, Inc. and its subsidiaries.  Collaborate with members of the Tax Department to help ensure that federal, state, and international tax compliance requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze data using a variety of financial systems (SAP, TM1, Cognos) in order to prepare and reconcile federal, state, and international tax return workpapers. 
  • Prepare quarterly estimate/extension calculations, including assisting with the coordination of payments.
  • Prepare tax returns for individuals and small entities.
  • Prepare miscellaneous compliance, such as FBARs and 5500s.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual tax provision.
  • Assist with data gathering for federal, state, and local income/franchise tax audits.
  • Review new assets for proper tax classification and recovery periods, compute annual book/tax fixed asset adjustments, and run fixed asset reporting packages from software.
  • Keep current with tax changes and industry trends in order to alert management of potential tax opportunities.
  • Build cross functional relationships with members of finance, legal, treasury, and other departments in order to gather accurate tax data and drive tax efficiencies and innovation.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 1+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax department preferred.
  • CPA certification or progressing towards a CPA certification preferred.
  • Must have a general knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Have basic knowledge regarding federal, state, and local tax laws involving individual, corporate, and flow-through entities. 
  • Technical and practical experience in income tax compliance.
  • Knowledge of state apportionment and multi-state returns.
  • Familiarity with tax compliance software and tax research software.
  • Must be a meticulous professional with solid analytical, problem-solving and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and business writing skills along with organization and follow-through abilities.
  • Strong people skills to facilitate positive interactions with other employees in the Finance team, outside advisors, and auditors.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work volume, multi-task, and complete assigned tasks by established deadlines.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including the ability to work a flexible schedule due to variable workloads based on seasonality.
  • Able to work in a challenging and growth-oriented environment.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PCs; Microsoft Office with an advanced working knowledge of Excel; and general office equipment.  Experience in tax preparation software, OneSource RS preferred.  Sage FAS, SAP, CCH a plus.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions using analytical reasoning.

 

Mathematical Skills

Able to comprehend and apply mathematical principles in order to fulfill job requirements as needed.

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Able to comprehend and apply language skills in order to fulfill job requirements as needed.  Able to effectively communicate ideas and issues to other team members and management in both oral and written mediums.  Able to write and record data and information effectively and accurately.
