The Wellness Specialist works under the direction of the Wellness Director to facilitate a multi-site worksite wellbeing program including the development and implementation of strategic programs to prevent disease, manage chronic conditions and promote well-being. This position promotes health and well-being through a variety of strategic methods, including but not limited to individual consultations, group fitness classes, small group training, health education classes, wellness challenges, seminars, preventive health screenings, flu shot clinics and other wellness initiatives. Main Objective: 
The Wellness Specialist works under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator to facilitate a multi-site worksite wellbeing program including the development and implementation of strategic programs to prevent disease, manage chronic conditions and promote well-being. This position promotes health and well-being through a variety of strategic methods, including but not limited to health education classes, wellness challenges, seminars, preventive health screenings, individual and/or group coaching, and other wellness initiatives. This position requires an energetic individual with a passion for healthy living and a desire to help others reach their personal goals.
   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Organize, implement and oversee wellbeing initiatives for employees at multiple, corporate locations to reduce health risks and improve wellbeing.
2. Develop and/or facilitate programs including but not limited to health education classes and presentations, lifestyle change programs, recreational leagues, athletic tournaments, team building activities, group exercise classes and other special events for employees and third parties.
3. Motivate employees to achieve specific health goals.
4. Analyze health data from multiple platforms to identify prevalent risks, identify programs to address risks and facilitate programs
5. Collaborate with on-site medical providers, physical therapists and other partners to promote employee well-being
6. Assist with the marketing, communication, implementation and evaluation of wellbeing programs and services.
7. Market and manage client registration portals for all programs.
8. Manage external health/wellness vendors.
9. Understand and enforce Arthrex Wellness Center policies and procedures with clients using excellent customer service skills.
10. Maintain a thorough understanding of fitness equipment operation and assist employees as needed. Identify, address and resolve employee/guest problems or complaints and escalate when appropriate.
11. Maintain a current knowledge of industry developments and propose programming, as appropriate, to best serve our clients. Brings awareness to management team of new wellness initiatives and partners with experts to find solutions.
12. Maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners to provide strategies to meet business objectives.
13. Demonstrate a professional and caring approach in all interactions and with all levels of the organization.
14. Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all documentation and employee interactions. 

Knowledge:

Frequent use and/or application of basic wellness procedures, practices, and concepts. Regular experience with applicable wellness platforms and software.

Discretion/Latitude:

    Work is supervised by colleagues. Follows specific, detailed instructions. 

Skills:

•    Strong problem solving, communication abilities required.
•    Must be detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time.
•    Ability to communicate issues and problem solve effectively with team members, employees and external departments.
•    Intermediate working knowledge of all exercise equipment and instruction on proper use for optimal benefits based on health status and goals.
•    Intermediate to advanced knowledge of instructing multiple group fitness class formats
•    Advanced knowledge of exercise program design for healthy adults.
•    Intermediate knowledge in wellness event planning and execution including tournaments, leagues, team building, etc. with moderate oversight
•    Intermediate marketing skills for all department initiatives 

Education/Experience:

•    Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred
•    4 or more years of experience in fitness/wellness, corporate environment preferred. 
•    Minimum of one nationally recognized certification

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Extensive knowledge in fitness and/or wellness.
Ability to work well independently, prioritize work and meet deadlines 
Must be creative, energetic, organized and detail-oriented
Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion 
Effective communicator with great people skills
