The safety and efficacy of our medical devices are supported by strong scientific evidence and strategic research efforts across the organization. The Research Strategy and Operations team is seeking an intern to support the Research Strategy vertical, with a primary focus on evidence‑generation initiatives, scientific literature review and synthesis, and the development of strategic insights. The successful candidate will gain exposure to core Research Operations activities and contribute to high‑impact initiatives, including scientific updates and summaries, market and landscape research, communication efforts, research process improvement, and other cross‑functional projects that support the department’s mission.
This internship will run from June 2026 – August 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
This internship is designed to support the Research Strategy vertical, with a primary focus on evidence‑generation initiatives, scientific literature review and synthesis, and strategic insights that inform research strategies and decisions. The intern will also gain broader exposure to core Research Operations activities, contributing to cross‑functional initiatives such as research process improvements, scientific communications, and global initiatives as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support scientific evidence initiatives consistent with departmental and research strategy priorities.
- Conduct scientific literature reviews and evidence synthesis to inform research strategy and portfolio planning.
- Assist with the development of scientific updates, summaries, and insights for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to market and landscape research to support evidence‑generation and strategic decision‑making.
- Participate in research process improvement initiatives and operational assessments.
- Provide ad hoc support to broader Research Operations efforts, including cross‑functional initiatives and communications.
Education and Experience:
- BA Degree required. Enrolled in a Masters/PhD program required. (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
- Strong knowledge of scientific literature and publications required.
- Literature search and synthesis experience with biomedical databases (PubMed and Embase) required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Strong computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
