Main Objective:

The Research Operations Specialist will work directly with the Manager, Research Operations, and verticals within the Research department globally to develop and execute key initiatives, best practices, and processes that support departmental strategies and daily activities. This role involves managing and supporting critical operations and functions with autonomy and independent judgment. Responsible for optimizing departmental processes, enhancing collaboration, and amplifying communication initiatives. Spearhead key inter- and intra-departmental initiatives working alongside clinical research, biomedical research, and other departments.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the global research department to develop, implement, and execute critical departmental initiatives and projects. Track and report on metrics and deliverables to ensure progress and success of initiatives.
  • Lead and support research operations projects in partnership with other departments (Compliance, Finance, Medical Education). Adapt to evolving priorities and provide support for global departmental initiatives.
  • Contribute to scientific evidence initiatives, partnering with stakeholders (e.g., Product Management, Regulatory, Strategic Development, etc.)  to identify research needs or gaps and devise strategies to meet their goals.
  • Execute the department's scientific and non-scientific communication strategy through the development of quarterly newsletters and other educational materials. Identify channels to communicate available resources, new publications, and enhancements to stakeholders.
  • Support the development of new initiatives and optimization efforts for department operations based on identified needs in alignment with strategic direction.  Clearly articulate goals, champion initiatives, and drive meaningful change.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and metrics for study reviews, compliance, finance, and presentation purposes. Conduct competitive benchmarking and market analysis to inform new business initiatives as needed.
  • Facilitate, prepare materials for, and lead global stakeholder meetings to discuss ongoing research projects and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Develop compelling presentations and slides that effectively articulate the vision, present ideas, and propose solutions. Create and lead presentations on behalf of the research department for internal and external meetings, events, and surgeon collaborations.
  • Serve as a key resource for senior leadership and the department, offering insights and recommendations to advance the research department's strategic direction.

                                   

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Life Sciences, Biomedical Research, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in research operations, project management, consulting, or related field required.
  • Professional experience in project management and research operations in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Previous experience in orthopedics preferred.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and organizational skills required.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Proficient software skills: Word/ Excel/ Power Point.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team, with experience with cross-functional teams
  • Self-motivated, organized and accurate in daily management of activities
  • Pronounced sense of responsibility
  • Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates their activities to achieve desired results
  • High level of customer orientation
