Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is searching for a student pursuing a Bioengineering (or related) degree to support the Orthobiologics Research team in Naples, FL (INC). The Orthobiologics Research team at INC is responsible for supporting the engineers and product managers within Orthobiologics and other departments. The successful candidate will assist in research and product development efforts with guidance from the Orthobiologics staff. The individual will perform various research studies and analyses (cell culture, wet lab tissue collections, imaging, protein quantification, Arthrex Orthobiologics product testing) and will be detail oriented in the execution and documentation of the testing. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner. This co-op will run from July 2026 - December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To support and assist with the product development and research efforts on the Orthobiologics/Vet Engineering and Research Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in product development process and research.
- Develop research protocols and execute testing.
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Compose technical reports to communicate results of experiments.
- Perform literature review of relevant topics in orthopedics and basic science.
- Present experimental findings to engineering and product management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or a recent graduate, required. Sophomore or above studying Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biology or related engineering field preferred.
(Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.) - Strong documentation and technical writing skills preferred.
- Prior work in a laboratory setting including cell culture, biosafety cabinet and aseptic technique preferred.
- General understanding of engineering design process preferred.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology preferred.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
