The Orthobiologics Research team is searching for a co-op to support and assist with research projects. The Orthobiologics Research team collaborates with product development engineers to drive new product innovation, collects data to support marketing efforts, and investigates causes of user complaints. A successful candidate will be willing to take the lead on orthopedic research projects and be comfortable with independent work. The co-op must be comfortable learning about and applying new lab techniques. This role requires excellent time management, prioritization, the ability to learn from mistakes, and an excitement to learn.
This Co-op will run from January 2026 - June 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To support and assist with the product development and research efforts on the OrthoBiologics/Vet Engineering and Research Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support in product development process and research.
- Develop research protocols and execute testing.
- Analyze and interpret data.
- Compose technical reports to communicate results of experiments.
- Perform literature review of relevant topics in orthopedics and basic science.
- Present experimental findings to engineering and product management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or a recent graduate, required. Sophomore, junior or senior studying Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biology or related engineering field preferred.
(Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.) - Strong documentation and technical writing skills preferred.
- Prior work in a laboratory setting including cell culture, biosafety cabinet and aseptic technique preferred.
- General understanding of engineering design process preferred.
- Basic knowledge of anatomy/physiology preferred.
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
