The Continuous Improvement Specialist Family will help plan, coordinate, lead and execute Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence projects across Arthrex. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in the implementation of process excellence and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Drives the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.
  • Provide Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence project leadership, kaizen facilitation, team coordination, and support.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize data using various Lean/Six Sigma/Operational Excellence tools.
  • Facilitates kaizen, problem solving and rapid improvement process events with both internal and external employees and suppliers with a major emphasis on focused improvement.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization as appropriate to gain and maintain support for initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum 2 Years of relevant work experience and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, or similar field required.

 

Skills:

  • Manufacturing & Supply Chain process knowledge preferred.
  • Project management and communication skills training required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small process change efforts.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Green Belt or above preferred.
  • Time management – Manage one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Negotiating – The Power to Influence and gain Buy-In from the team.
  • Disciplined Execution — Job requires holding the team accountable through daily execution to the plan.
  • When required, he/she will need to be able to dive into details to ensure operational success.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles required for strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

 

Knowledge:

Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Develops solutions to a variety of moderate scope and complexity. May refer to established precedents and policies. Makes proposals to policy improvements to align solutions with organization objectives.

 

Discretion/Latitude:

Work is performed under general supervision. Participates in determining objectives of assignment. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.

 

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.
