| Title: | Logistics Operations Specialist Sr. |
Arthrex Inc. is hiring a Logistics Operations Specialist Sr. to work at our Arthrex Logistics Center in Fort Myers, FL to provide transportation arrangements for the efficient routing and delivery of products to and from international and domestic customers, suppliers and intercompany locations. This individual will be maintaining relationships with international and domestic transportation providers.Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm EST.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work cross functionally with internal teams to align appropriate shipping methods, providing logistics support for intra Arthrex domestic movements and vendor coordination while obtaining the most cost-effective rates.
- Manage carrier relations including freight contracts, requesting freight quotes, negotiating invoice disputes & claims
- Request spot quotes from transportation providers.
- Participate in quarterly business reviews with carriers, suppliers, and vendors
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and efficient transportation while maintaining cargo integrity in support of Labs, Exhibits, and Tradeshows.
- Audit SAP data to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintain knowledge of all rules and regulations governing the movement of cargo.
- Observe strict execution and control procedures for all transportation modes (Airfreight, LTL, FTL, Ocean, small parcel etc.).
- Process shipments in SAP and other shipping software to ensure that the shipping details such as pieces, weight, dimensions, freight charges, tracking numbers and documents are complete and accurate.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
- Track shipments and monitor delivery exceptions.
- Adhere to the Supplier Routing Policy and the Domestic Shipping Policy.
- Required to work flexible hours as needed by the department.
Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge in managing carrier relations including freight contracts, requesting freight quotes, negotiating invoice disputes & claims.
- Deepen communication skills with internal and external customers and suppliers to achieve company objectives such as freight expediting, communicating exception reporting, and changes involving critical time-sensitive pick-ups and/or deliveries.
- Thorough knowledge of all rules and regulations governing the movement of cargo for all transportation modes (Airfreight, LTL, FTL, small parcel etc.).
- Collaborate with Arthrex Subsidiary and distributors to deliver solutions while maintaining high levels of quality and service.
- Investigate and solve logistical issues encountered on a daily basis.
- Thorough knowledge in SAP data to ensure quality and compliance.
- Participate in meetings on a periodic basis to ensure actions are taken for effective logistics planning.
- Assist in quarterly business reviews with carriers, suppliers, and vendors.
Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Coachable, Team player, self-motivated/starter. Possess a high level of attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of SAP.
- Customer Service background required.
- Ability to understand KPIs/metrics.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred. Ability to work independently and effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
- Assist in training new hires.
- Experience managing logistics, supply chain, or operations in a regulated environment required; medical device experience is a plus.
Education:
Bachelors degree required with 3 years experience, preferably in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
