Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for a student pursuing an engineering degree to support the Imaging and Resection (I&R) manufacturing team in Ave Maria, FL (AMIE).  This team is responsible for producing shavers under the I&R vertical using lathes, laser welders, grinders and EDMs.  Our preferred candidate will have knowledge of SolidWorks, CNC machinery and strong communication skills.  Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™.

This co-op will run from July 2026 – December 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To support insourcing new products, validating machinery, and implementing process improvements for the Imagining and Resection group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Validate new and existing machinery.
• Create and implement process improvements.
• Design and manufacture shop aids.
• Support manufacturing documentation. 
• Conduct product testing, including documenting and analyzing results. 
• Insource new products. 
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Enrolled as a full-time student pursuing an engineering degree or a recent graduate within the last six months.  Junior or above studying Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  (Recent graduates must be within six months of their graduation date to qualify.)
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements /Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing and possess the ability to work through technical issues.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

• Prior experience with CAD, specifically SolidWorks, preferred.
• Prior experience with basic hand tools, manual machines, CNC machines preferred.
