Arthrex is actively seeking a Maintenance Technician Trainee at the Ave Maria, FL. facility. This is a two-year training program that provides both hands-on and online training to enable participants to perform all preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment. Schedule:
8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete promptly and carefully all lessons, assignments and school tests required by the sponsor
- Maintain satisfactory progress as determined by the Maintenance Manager to advance through each stage of the program.
- Sequentially develop skills reflective of the Maintenance Technician job descriptions
- Protect the property of the employer
- Respect and comply with all rules, regulations and policies of the employer affecting employment
- Keep adequate records of work experience and related instruction as required by the sponsor and submit properly completed records to the appropriate authority in a timely manner
Drug Free Workplace Screening:
Technicians that have job responsibilities in the Finishing building or technicians who have been designated as backup for the Finishing building are considered “safety sensitive.” Employees in safety sensitive positions will be subject to drug screening prior to and during employment at Arthrex. The company’s drug testing procedure is part of the Arthrex Employee Reference Guide. (ERG)
Typical Functions for the Maintenance Tech Trainee include:
- Perform online training every week on assigned topic
- Perform on the job training every week on assigned topic
- Participate in vendor related training
- Learn and perform preventative maintenance procedures
- Work with maintenance technicians
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 18 years of age.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Mechanical aptitude
- General computer skills with a preferred understanding of Microsoft software.
- Preferred Knowledge of equipment used in the manufacturing of medical devices preferred.
- Be able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language (remediation may be requested)
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
- Hand and power tools
- Measuring tools
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures. Ability to work in a team environment, but maintain individual drive. Driven by customer satisfaction.
Physical Demands:
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
Vision Requirements:
Visual acuity necessary to do the job safely and effectively.
