Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for working with Design and Manufacturing Engineering to prevent quality discrepancies and help determine the root cause and drive corrective action with the guidance of Quality Engineers. This would include review of DHR, inspection, functional testing, and writing an evaluation report.
- Executes such activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
- Initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such as chemical, electrical, or mechanical.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Executes established programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Executes developed methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- May help in areas of Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology Process Control, Product evaluation such as customer complaints, Research and Development, and Receiving Inspection.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering.
- Experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance position in a Medical Device Company preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Knowledge of testing equipment, statistical methods, control plans.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Proficiency in the use of PC and programs, particularly Excel, Word (or equivalents if changed by the Company), QAD or similar inventory software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
