Location is actively searching for a Capacity Planning Analyst I to oversee the capacity planning function for multiple manufacturing facilities. Coordinates in-sourcing activities as well as outsourcing activities with the Master Scheduler and Supply Chain Department to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain SAP capacity measures to ensure alignment with production schedule
- Keeps abreast with changes affecting both supply and demand for products and materials
- Plans and forecasts for future manufacturing requirements, including changes to machines and labor
- Establishes appropriate inventory levels for components and finished goods
- Works with other departments, such as Supply Chain and International Demand Planning, to review forecast changes, suggest lot sizing, and inventory levels
- Monitors variations in forecast and inventory levels, and performs corrective actions as needed which would include in-sourcing and/or out-sourcing of components and finished goods
- Maintains service levels with minimum inventory
- Manages capacity planning for new product introductions
- Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and shop floor to improve production efficiency
- Works closely with Master Scheduler to establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business or a related field.
- Ability to become APICS certified.
- Ability to negotiate with internal departments
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Basic understanding of materials management systems
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Advanced MS Excel, other related software, and SAP knowledge preferred
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
