5 Questions With Supply Chain Buyer Planner II Conor Brandon
As a Supply Chain Buyer Planner II at the global headquarters campus, Conor Brandon helps develop and maintain the supply chain for new suture-adjacent products while working with various departments to facilitate the release of new products and technology into the field. He manages the supply chain of those products for a year before handing them over to the Suture Sustaining group that manages mature products.
Conor has worked at Arthrex for three years, having started as an intern prior to earning a full-time position. He says his favorite Arthrex product is the DynaNite® Staple system because it was among the first parts he managed when joining Arthrex.
“The complexity behind managing the supply chain of these parts was significantly different from how I managed other parts in the past, so it forced me to learn so much in a short amount of time,” he said. “These parts are also unique because the staples are made from Nitinol, which exhibit the distinct ability to be an elastic material that always retains its original shape.”

How do you impact our mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™ in your role?
I help serve our company’s mission by ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time so patients around the globe can benefit from Arthrex’s
innovative technologies. Whether it be working internally with Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. (AMI) or externally with our third-party suppliers, my job is to ensure that we can match supply with our constantly growing demands to support Arthrex’s growth daily.
It takes a robust and accurate supply chain to help serve our global demands and I’m happy to be a part of such an amazing team that helps make it happen.
What inspires you the most at Arthrex?
What inspires me most at Arthrex is the constant collaboration and problem solving that we all do as a team. No two days look alike here, and that stems from our ability to successfully work in cross-functional teams while being able to effectively communicate with various departments to contribute towards Arthrex’s mission. Everyone at Arthrex is driven by success and self-improvement, so I am constantly inspired by my peers to do the same.
What is your favorite success story at Arthrex?
My favorite success story at Arthrex was the treatment of [New York Jets Quarterback] Aaron Rodgers' torn Achilles tendon using the Achilles Midsubstance SpeedBridge™ repair. This is because the week before the surgery, the Achilles SpeedBridge line became part of the products I manage, so it instantly put into perspective how those products are directly helping the biggest names in the sports world.
How do you describe the Arthrex culture?
I always describe the culture here as being a part of one big family because everyone is always looking out for one another and offering a helping hand. The culture here also fosters innovation and growth for all its employees both inside and outside of the work environment and that is something that makes this company so great.
Our core value is Making People Better. How has Arthrex made you better?
Arthrex has been able to help me in both my personal and professional life. Professionally, Arthrex aided my pursuit to obtain a master’s degree to further my educational development. Working here has also given me the opportunity to work with so many intelligent and talented individuals who provided me with the most valuable learning experiences in my early professional career.
Outside of work, Arthrex helped maintain my personal health goals by allowing me to engage in structured workout classes at the Wellness Center and giving me the opportunity to play for the company soccer and volleyball teams.
