About the Role / Main Objective

The role is suitable for someone with a strong background in accounting, looking to gain exposures in commercial and business strategies, and to leverage their knowledge to help grow the business. In this role, you will be able to cooperate with APAC Finance team and build cross-functional relationships (Operation, Commercial, Compliance). As the accountant in Finance, your key responsibility is to support the team in maintaining control over all financial aspects of the business strategy in Korea.

 

Key Deliverables and Success Factors

Key responsibilities are but not limited to:

Accounting operations and supporting FP&A

  • Support the Finance Head in managing accounting, controls, financial planning, and analysis related matters.
  • Ensure that financial reports are prepared in accordance with Company Finance Policies and/or local Accounting Standards.
  • Complete month-end close timely and accurately, following the Global and APAC procedures and guidelines.
  • Work with respective departments on OtC (Order to Cash) process, resolve and/or highlight to manager on any issues.
  • Complete periodic reporting such as monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, quarterly Fixed Asset and Lease Reporting to Global and APAC.
  • Provide the needed support during annual budget exercise.
  • Review and perform reconciliations for Sales and COGS accounts.
  • Collaborate with Operations on Inventory Accounting.
  • Prepare reports on AR aging and monitor the status of AR collection.
  • Cooperate with APAC Finance for the maintenance of vendor and customer master data.
  • Manage customer credit including release of blocked documents.
  • Reconcile and prepare VAT filings on a quarterly basis.
  • Support in internal/external audits and corporate tax returns.
  • Review employees’ claims in Chrome River and provide guidance and/or assistance to employees.
  • Prepare reports and materials on an ad hoc basis, or as request by the Finance Head

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and advanced/certification preferred.
  • Medical device industry sales reporting and analysis experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to think, act and work independently with high attention to detail and strong problem solving.
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Cognos or Applix experience preferred. Working knowledge of PCs, databases and general office equipment.
