About the role:

A “newly created” opportunity for a finance professional to join a leading global medical devices organisation. Reporting to the ANZ Financial Accounting Manager, this position will perform general accounting functions with a focus on Accounts Payable, Travel Expenses and Month end closing.

The successful incumbent will need to operate with a high degree of autonomy, have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate a high degree of drive and initiative.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Day to Day

  • Receive, code and process vendor invoices, deposits & prepayments for approval and payment on a timely basis and resolve any discrepancies.
  • File vendor invoices in a standardized and consistent manner
  • Review and process staff travel and expense claims ensuring compliance with internal policies and practices. Proactively resolve or escalate any non-compliance issues where identified.
  • Supporting staff in reconciling their AMEX statements where required
  • Process twice weekly & ad hoc vendor pay runs in SAP and Bank of America Portal
  • Update and maintain accurate data in the accounting systems (i.e. Vendor Master Data)
  • Respond to and investigate internal & external queries in a timely manner to completion
 

Monthly closing

  • Assist in the month end processing including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and reporting (ie cash, leases, FX, accruals).
  • Reconcile intercompany vendor statements, confirmation of balances and coordinate with intercompany counterparts for any discrepancies
  • Reconcile cash at bank accounts and ensure GL ties through to Cash at bank balance
  • Prepare cashflow forecast and process settlement payments to intercompany partners
  • Follow up on outstanding deposits, vendor refunds or other open items
  • Support inventory and fixed asset accounting processes.
  • Support any assigned month end analysis tasks (eg 3PL expenses tracking, )

 

Others

  • Support systems improvement initiatives (e.g. AP automation)
  • Assist in attending to auditors’ requests or inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Designated back up for accounts receivables specialist when required
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned

 

 

About the Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Degree qualified and CPA or CA qualified (or studying towards)
  • 2-4 years accounting / finance experience in a large multinational environment preferred
  • Knowledge & experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Experience in managing / processing travel expenses Concur or Chrome River (preferred)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Good written and oral English language communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a group environment.
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and lateral thinking skills

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Intermediate to Advanced level Microsoft Excel (eg pivot tables, formulas etc…).
  • Proficient in Word, and Outlook.
