Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in a new product development and medical education in orthopedics. At Arthrex California Technology, we design and manufacture state of the art Endoscopy Cameras and Resection Shavers. We are searching for an intern to support the Test Engineering Team to perform R&D Testing and Verification & Validation (V&V) activities. The Successful candidate will prepare, execute, and document Engineering and V&V Testing with guidance from the engineering staff. The individual must de detailed oriented in the execution and documentation of these methods. The individual will also work within the requirement of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.



This position will run from May 2022 - August 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work fulltime 30 - 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara Arthrex California Technology location.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Next generation Camera Systems and Resection Shavers studies and testing
  • Creating and improving test fixtures
  • Technical writing (Protocols and reports)
  • Software (test related code) testing


Education and Experience:

  • Progress towards a college degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, Industrial, Mechanical), Physics or Computer Science. A college, freshmen, sophomore, junior or senior required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Intermediate to Expert computer skills.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction. PowerPoint applications proficiency a plus.
  • Aptitude toward engineering design and development preferred.




Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC; High proficiency with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner. CAD Software; Solid works, Creo.
