We are seeking a Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer I with technical leadership experience.  Individual will lead the SQA team on projects supporting our Virtual Implant Positioning (VIP) System which provides three-dimensional images for orthopedic surgeons around the world.  Individual will be responsible for performing highly complex technical testing tasks and mentoring others in addition to writing API automation.

 

Qualified candidates have a minimum of 5 years of work experience with C# and building out automation.  Selenium and Unity experience highly preferred.  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

 

This position has the option of working from our Santa Barbara, CA location or full-time remote.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports complex release projects including various testing activities including:
    • Test planning, project estimation and scheduling
    • Resource planning, training, and oversight
    • Test development and execution
    • Defect management
    • Daily/weekly status reporting and project closure
  • Applies test methodology, defines test strategy and types of testing to be performed.
  • Ensures comprehensive testing is performed on the project to assure the quality of an application’s usability, functionality, security, and performance.
  • Performs testing assignments including integrations with other systems, performance testing, and migration of data from one database or system to another in large implementation or major release projects.
  • Works with infrastructure and application development teams to establish and maintain test environments.
  • Communicates issues identified during testing activities to application development team lead and manager.  Assists in the triage and resolution, advises on design/architectural solutions, and recommends process/application improvements to management.
  • Contributes to SQA metrics such as requirements coverage, test case readiness, test execution progress, and defect counts and statistics in SQA test management tool.
  • Ensures Arthrex SQA standards and processes are followed. 

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Solid understanding of programming languages and several technologies including relational databases, SQL and XML/JSON required.
  • Proficient with documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results required.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills required.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Project management skills with ability to identify urgencies, risks and competing priorities and constraints required.
  • Experience with prioritizing tasks for team members required.
  • Leadership skills with ability to provide technical training to team members, influence development of business solutions, and lead multiple teams and projects required.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:  PC servers, workstations, and laptops.  Microsoft environment. Work with standard current computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
