This position is for the Arthrex manufacturing facility in Sandy Springs, SC.

The successful candidate for this position must be able to attend initial training in the Naples, FL area if/as needed by Arthrex.



Main Objective:

Manages receipt, shipment and internal movement of company products and materials. Manages on-site and off-site inventory. Ensures work instructions and procedures are followed properly by direct reports. Ensures transfer orders and work orders are completed in a timely manner. The role supervises and directs the activities of Shipping/Receiving Clerks, Molding Material Handlers, and Cycle Counters.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the Shipping & Receiving department and ensure associates issue material correctly based on transfer order, work order, and outbound delivery requirements to maintain continuous material flow.
  • Oversees preparation of outbound material for shipment.
  • Ensures inbound goods are processed timely and accurately.
  • Organizes outbound shipments to provide the most efficient methods of completing customer orders.
  • Uses preferred carrier base to process outbound shipments.
  • Expedites requests to fulfill transfer orders, work orders, and outbound deliveries ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficiently operates forklift and related equipment.
  • Replenishes shipping/packaging supplies for the department and establishes reorder quantities to support department demand.
  • Assists in warehouse layout and configuration of shelving, storage racks, etc.
  • Ensures Shipping/Receiving department work instructions are followed to maintain product identification/traceability and maximize inventory accuracy.
  • Evaluates Shipping & Receiving staff by completing annual performance evaluations, as well as, taking disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Manages hourly direct reports time & attendance daily.
  • Tracks raw material, component, MRO, and outside contract inventory for accuracy.
  • Disposes of expired MRO product.
  • Resolves receipt and shipment discrepancies in a timely manner using SAP investigative techniques.
  • Follows general housekeeping and cleanliness best practices.
  • Complies with OSHA and ISO9002 standards.
  • Maintains and reports accurate key performance metrics for the department.
  • Participates in continuous improvements exercises.
  • Performs safety training for direct reports in a timely manner and monitors work areas for potential hazards.

Education and Experience:

Associate Degree in Materials/Logistics/Inventory Management  preferred or minimum of 5 years direct warehouse management experience in an FDA-regulated industry.


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Advanced knowledge of receiving, shipping, packaging, warehousing, and inventory management procedures required.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows based software, material issuance, and inventory tracking required.

Ability to prioritize, work in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and work under time constraints.

Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, using spoken and written English.

Skills to effectively supervise and motivate direct reports.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Basic mailroom/shipping equipment and materials.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements. 


Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above.  Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.  Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
