Main Objective: In collaboration with production management, oversees Assembly Department to ensure optimal operating results. Responsible for ensuring daily production requirements are met daily. Provides guidance to efficiently produce high quality work while meeting customer delivery schedules, yield targets and cost objectives in addition to maintaining a safe work environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies discretion and independent judgement when coordinating priority jobs required to consistently achieving daily, weekly, and monthly production requirements.
  • Trains employees to perform assemblies to specifications and documents training records.
  • Effectively collaborates with various departments to resolve all product non-conformances.
  • Collaborates and provides input to product development and manufacturing engineering on prototypes.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly and proactively monitors maintenance needs.
  • Delegates responsibility and works with team members to develop their skills/capabilities.
  • Demonstrates commitment to safety by enforcing compliance of safety policies. Reports all safety hazards and/or concerns to Operations Manager and/or EH&S representative.
  • Conducts accident investigations and completes all requirement documentation per requirements.
  • Attends required meetings and training events for continuous professional development.
  • Makes employment decisions and ensures a harmonious and productive work environment through effective and periodic individual/team meetings and effective performance management.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, state and federal laws and regulations regarding wage and hour, timekeeping, and employment law.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years of progressive production experience in manufacturing industry required
  • 3 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Performance management experience preferred

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Skilled in mechanical assembly with a high level of quality and good communication skills required.

Basic Microsoft Office experience required.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Basic MRP knowledge.

Basic knowledge of OSHA and safe working practices

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: Various light duty machines and hand tools and measuring equipment.
