Arthrex is a global medical device company and leader in orthopedics medical education. With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Medical Visualization team in Naples, Florida is responsible for developing interactive applications using emerging technologies for the purpose of educating and assisting surgeons. As well as visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing an Engineering, Computer Science or Interactive Media degrees to support the Medical Visualization team. A successful candidate will assist in the development of applications for marketing, upcoming products, and medical education. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will take initiative to collaborate with team members effectively and follow preestablished process flows.

 

This internship will run from May 2023 – August 2023. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

To assist teams with administrative office support and help with project work.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Explore VR and AR technologies
  • Assist in the development of interactive applications
  • Test new technology and alternative solutions to existing problems
  • Setup test environments                                      
  • Asset management in Unity, Unreal and CMS
  • Maintain Hardware/Software updates 
  • Document software bugs, issues, limitations, temporary solutions, etc.
  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

 

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Interactive Media, Computer Science or Engineering. Junior or senior preferred. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, Unity, Unreal, Maya, ZBrush, Visual Studio, Rider, Substance Painter/Designer, Pixyz and/or 3ds Max preferred. 
  • Programming, scripting and testing experience preferred. 
  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
