Main Objective:  

The Sr. Cinematographer serves as a camera operator and editor for Arthrex, Inc.’s medical education, training, and promotional content.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Operate camera, audio and lighting equipment used to produce high-quality, digital media that educates our audiences. 
  • Post-produce content for final delivery. 
  • Repurpose video content into multiple digital formats. 
  • Develop and document media production tools and best practices.  
  • Follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity. 
  • Maintain project status within Arthrex project management systems. 
  • Offload all media into appropriate storage locations and verify media transferred successfully as well as provide quality control for all recorded footage. 
  • Maintain all files in digital asset management system. 
  • Operate a motorized camera jib. 
  • Produce segments shot on a various DSLR and cinema format cameras. 
  • Availability to work weekends when necessary. 
  • Execute pre-production planning and communicate plan with Producer. 
  • Supervise crew and talent for in-house and off-site productions 
  • Edit complex, high-profile projects as defined by Producer 
  • Define scope of project and develop shotlists 
  • Schedule crew and equipment 

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 10 years of related experience required or Associates Degree plus 6 years of related experience required. 
  • 4 years of experience in Adobe Premiere Pro editing and content creation required.

  • Adept working knowledge of industry-standard camera equipment, camera lenses, audio, and lighting equipment.  
  • Proficient with After Effects, Prelude, Photoshop, and Apple Operating Systems. 
  • Knowledgeable of best practices for studio and field production workflow. 
  • Expert knowledge of composition. 
  • Expert knowledge of lighting and lighting techniques. 
  • Expert knowledge of camera and lens settings and theory like RAW and LOG recording formats, sensor size, ISO, aperture, shutter angle, resolution, frame rate, and white balance. 
  • Knowledge of imaging pipelines which includes sending a signal to monitors through Tx/Rx and applying in camera LUTs. 
  • Red and Canon Cinema camera experience required. 
  • Expert knowledge of audio and audio recording techniques. 
  • Expert knowledge of green screen and keying techniques. 
  • Knowledgeable of best practices for post-production workflow. 
  • Expert knowledge in the use of Adobe CC applications. 
  • Expert knowledge of color correction and stylized grading. 
  • DaVinci Resolve experience required. 
  • Ability to mix multitrack audio projects. 
  • Ability to repair and enhance audio. 
  • Working knowledge of anatomy and anatomical terms of location. 
  • Knowledge of orthopedic surgery principles, theories, and products necessary. 
  • Actively utilizes project management and communication skills. 
  • Advanced ability to direct on camera talent. 
  • Travel up to 20%

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

  • Meet regularly with the production team to ensure all projects stay on track and meet assigned deadlines 
  • Interview and hire a team of production professionals 
  • Supervise, coordinate, mentor, and train production personnel 
  • Provide performance reviews, appraise performance, and resolve conflict 
  • Set goals and objectives for team members and act as a visionary and coach 
  • Provide AVT leadership with regular reports on project status 

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: 

Ability to work well with a variety of team members to represent the design viewpoint effectively in a collaborative work environment. Contribute creative solutions in a productive and positive manner.  

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills: 

Position requires a knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Prelude, Photoshop, as well as the Apple operating system.
