Main Objective:

The Business Analyst position works directly with our Global Finance division within Arthrex to build and lead initiatives for our Finance pipeline of Information Technology projects and enhancements with mentorship from Business Solutions Leaders in a SAP environment.  A successful candidate must have experience defining requirements and business processes within Finance.  The position liaises with the technical organization to pursue areas of improvements within our current ecosystem and lead new projects while adhering to our solution delivery standards.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Translate business goals and objectives into strategic capabilities
  • Benchmark current and future processes against best industry practices
  • Develop a roadmap of projects and initiatives for enablement of new capabilities
  • Deploy an appropriate methodology for the identification and documentation of business requirements
  • Gather requirements for new development items
  • Lead demand planning and scheduling of Finance requests
  • Support the development of training content for business users
  • Continuously analyze and document as-is process and value stream mappings
  • Systematic creation and updating of system documentation, business process documentation, and end user documentation
  • Project Management and mentorship of junior level analysts
  • Engage in efforts to establish scope and business case for new programs and initiatives
  • Plan and manage user acceptance testing activities
  • Accountable for adoption of solutions by sponsoring business departments
  • Provide the methodology, standards and tools for efficient and effective program management
  • Identify technical functionality that aligns with desired new business capabilities    
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and differentiate Arthrex from its competition
  • Up to 20% travel required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering or Computer Science or related field required. Masters degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • At least eight years experience within a business function (Finance) with business analysis or business process improvement activity required
  • At least eight years experience with SAP FI (SAP Financial Accounting) and/or SAP CO (SAP Controlling) modules
  • Experience with the following modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Overhead and Product Cost, Profitability Analysis, Cash Management, and Profit Center Accounting
  • Proficient in testing and documentation using proper methodologies
  • Previous involvement in the deployment or optimization of an ERP system a plus
  • Previous position in Pharma or Medical Device industry a plus
  • Experience working in projects where multiple functions work in a matrix structure a plus

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Knowledge in system functionality and capabilities of SAP FI & SAP CO environment
  • Ability to drive technology implementations through planning, process design, user acceptance testing, etc.
  • Experience with process improvement techniques and tools. Lean or Six Sigma preferred
  • Customer service orientation
  • Understanding of the major functions in a global organization
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills
  • Ability to work comfortably at all levels within the organization up to the senior management level

     

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC servers, workstations and laptops. Telecommunication equipment, cell phones and smart phones. Microsoft and Apple environment. Work with standard current computer applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets and data bases. MS Office, SQL server, Active Directory, MS Exchange, ERP and partner software applications.
