With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Risk Management & Compliance team is responsible for implementation of the Global Risk Management & Compliance Program at Arthrex. We are searching for a Risk Management & Compliance Intern to support the various functions of a compliance program, including monitoring, policy and training development, investigations, and regulatory enforcement research. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, have clear and concise writing skills, and have an interest in or experience working with complex data. The individual will also work within the requirements of their tasks to deliver results and communicate issues in a timely and accurate manner.

 

This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

 

Main Objective:

To learn the elements of an effective compliance program, as well as the compliance risks related to the medical device industry. Gain exposure to career opportunities in compliance while supporting the department in all aspects of its compliance program, including program management, policy development, training, communications, investigations, monitoring and auditing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analysis of data.
  • Conduct regulatory/case law research as needed.
  • Support investigations, special projects and general compliance program functions.
  • Support audit activities.
  • Assist with drafting of policies, procedures, training materials and compliance communications.
  • Support general program management activities.
  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.


Education and Experience:

  • Progress towards a Law degree required, preferably 2L or 3L. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
  • Experience or strong interest in healthcare compliance preferred. 
  • Law Review or other legal journal experience preferred.

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
  • Ability to conduct research.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel; Scanner.
