Main Objective:


To facilitate administrative processes surrounding the effective operations of a global department. Support the Department Director and the Research Operations division in the management of key initiatives, events, workshops, and presentations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Director of Orthopedic Research on ongoing projects and administrative duties, including calendar management, travel arrangements, expense reports, and record keeping.
  • Supports the Department with scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings, planning events, and assisting with material preparation and presentations.
  • Acts as the Point of Contact for the Department for internal and external audiences by being knowledgeable about its resources, processes, and initiatives.
  • Manages recurring communications and documentation relative to meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for data entry and study updates in the departmental business intelligence tracking software.
  • Responsible for extracting study data and ad hoc reports from departmental database as scheduled or requested, preparing accurate reports of assigned research project metrics to meet Arthrex and researcher goals.
  • Manages communication channels, such as the study mailbox.
  • Supports payments of research activities. Responsible for securing essential vendor documents and establishing accounts in billing systems within compliance guidelines according to executed agreements.
  • Assists in reviewing and improvement of departmental SOPs and Best Practices. Develops documents and guidelines as requested and instructed.
  • Responsible for performing clerical functions, writing correspondence and meeting notes.
  • Manages office supply orders for the department.
  • Exercises privacy, confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion regarding work matters, interactions, and communications.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous clinical or biomechanical research experience preferred
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office and other suitable tracking programs
  • Familiarity with orthopedics is advantageous


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks and requests.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
  • Good communication, documentation, and record keeping skills are required. 
  • High level of customer orientation
  • Self-motivated, organized and accurate in daily management of activities
  • Ability to work in a team and manage priorities
  • The ability to read a surgical technique and have a basic understanding of the instruments necessary to perform the procedure is beneficial
  • Proficient software skills: Word/ Excel/ Power Point/ Data Management Systems


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC, database, internet research tools.
