Main Objective:

Support Operations division in the management of clinical and biomedical engineering study requests and related activities. To facilitate administrative processes related to Investigator and Arthrex-Initiated research projects. Oversees and tracks payment milestones of research activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for managing study requests. Process and quality-check study requests, providing timely status reports and metrics.
  2. Responsible for data entry and study updates in the departmental tracking software Orthopedic Research Business Intelligence tool (ORBIt).
  3. Facilitate appropriate study documentation to maintain conformity with the Accounts Payable and Legal and Compliance departments.
  4. Responsible for securing essential vendor documents for assigned studies to assist in establishing accounts in A/P system within compliance guidelines.
  5. Responsible for establishing accounts in billing systems within compliance guidelines and issuing payments to vendors and investigators according to executed agreements.
  6. Assists in ordering, distributing and receiving study product and supplies.
  7. Manage communication channels, such as the study mailbox.
  8. Responsible for extracting study data and ad hoc reports from ORBIt database as scheduled or requested. 
  9. Contribute to the design and maintenance of templates/standards for protocols/reports in accordance with GCP best practices.
  10. Assist in reviewing and improvement of departmental SOPs and best practices.
  11. Responsible to perform clerical functions, writing correspondence and meeting notes.
  12. Prepare accurate reports of assigned research project metrics to meet Arthrex and researcher goals.
  13. Keep ORD management informed on progress of assigned study metrics and other project related information. Specifically, costs, timelines, milestones, and other pertinent metrics.
  14. Collaborate with and support the department leadership to ensure continuous improvement, and high standards for quality and productiveness.
  15. Manage office supply orders for the department.
  16. Manage calendars

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Previous clinical or biomechanical research experience preferred

Experienced in Microsoft Office and other suitable tracking programs

Familiarity with orthopedics is advantageous


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks and requests.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.

Good communication, documentation, and record keeping skills are required. 

High level of customer orientation

Self-motivated, organized and accurate in daily management of activities

Ability to work in a team and manage priorities

The ability to read a surgical technique and have a basic understanding of the instruments necessary to perform the procedure is beneficial

Proficient software skills: Word/ Excel/ Power Point/ Data Management Systems


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC, database, internet research tools.
