With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Medical Illustration team in Naples, FL is responsible for visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing a Scientific or Medical Illustration degree to support the Medical Illustration team. The successful candidate will create anatomically accurate medical illustrations for all aspects of marketing including brochures, advertisements, surgical techniques, etc. based on input of Product Management and Medical Education staff. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will be detail oriented in the execution of their work.


This internship will run from May 2022 – August 2022. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.


Main Objective:

To gain real-world experience working as a medical illustrator in a corporate environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete illustration projects as assigned by Medical Visualization Specialist.   

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management and Medical Education throughout the iterative design process.

  • Follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity.

  • Maintain all files in digital asset management system.                                                       

  • Attend 1-on-1 touch-base and illustration team meetings.

  • This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Science Illustration or Medical Illustration. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner. Software proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator preferred.
