Main Objective:

The Manager – Product Communications leads the development and execution of integrated communication campaigns and strategies for digital channels that support product marketing/promotion and patient education. This team leadership role is highly collaborative and requires subject matter expertise in social media and digital marketing best practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage a team of communications and social media professionals who develop, present and execute strategic communication plans that support the needs of product teams, medical education and patient education initiatives.
  • Manage all product and medical education-related social media channels; cultivate operational and procedural structures to support scalability and efficiencies for growing social media programs.
  • Develop strong relationships with Arthrex Product Management and other stakeholders; provide strategic guidance and recommendations based on data-driven, actionable insights.
  • Partner with Communications sub-teams and interdepartmental, cross-functional teams to produce a continuous pipeline of creative content that increases brand awareness and aligns with overall business objectives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and stay abreast of all relevant digital marketing and social media trends, opportunities and best practices; continually explore new creative approaches and strategies.
  • Collaborate with Comm Ops team on the development, execution and performance analysis of email marketing campaigns, paid digital campaigns (social and Google ads) and other strategic initiatives.
  • Manage all product-related content for Arthrex’s social media advocacy program.
  • Ensure all product communications represent Arthrex brand standards and align with regulatory, legal and compliance regulations and considerations for the medical device industry.
  • Serve cross functional roles within Communications, as needed or assigned. 


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in marketing, communications or related field
  • 7 years of medical device and/or consumer product industry experience preferred
  • 5 years of experience in the digital marketing space
  • 5 years of experience managing social media platforms for business
  • Experience managing a digital marketing and/or social media team in a corporate environment


Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Strong business acumen with ability to incorporate insights from the business into strategic communication plans and overall creative output
  • Ability to be resourceful and handle multiple stakeholders with changing priorities
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented with strong initiative and the ability manage multiple projects/processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working successfully with cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional time and project management skills
  • Foreign language skills such as Spanish and German a plus


Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Macintosh or PC platform
  • Adobe Creative Suite (In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
