The Arthrex Communications Department, based at the company’s global headquarters in Naples, Florida, is growing and looking to add a Global Journalist to the Corporate Communications team. Main Objective:

The Global Journalist will play a central creative role in crafting and supporting Arthrex’s global employee communications, using compelling and authentic storytelling customized for Arthrex’s various audiences. This role requires creative concepting, enterprise reporting and strong writing skills, with the ability to seek and develop internal and external stories across the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Promote a culture of storytelling through creative enterprise reporting for a variety of communication deliverables and initiatives.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams, internal stakeholders, external influencers and industry experts to identify, research and execute story opportunities that align with overall business objectives.
  • Develop content that showcases Arthrex’s culture and mission and drives awareness and employee engagement.
  • Produce quick-turn stories as well as long-term projects based on assigned beats within the company.
  • Engage in interviews with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Support global partners with content development and editing as needed for various global communications, including the global employee intranet.
  • Support global communication campaigns with the development of content that meets established goals and strategies.
  • Serve cross-functional roles within Corporate Communications as needed or assigned.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in communications, journalism, PR or marketing
  • 5 years of writing experience required (preferably a mix of journalism and marketing)
  • Experience working with or on a Communications or Marketing team in a corporate environment
  • Medical device industry experience preferred
  • Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Must be editorially strong, creative and resourceful with a demonstrated aptitude for storytelling
  • Established track record of creating high-volume, high-quality content from start to finish
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience working successfully with cross-functional teams
  • A quick learner who is highly organized and able to jump into projects and own them from ideation to execution.
  • Exceptional time and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders with changing priorities
  • Deadline- and detail-oriented with strong initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects/processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • Macintosh or PC platform
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and InDesign a plus
